New AOC executive board members

Dr. Haibo Huang is an Assistant Professor at Virginia Tech in the Department of Food Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Master’s degree from the University of Arkansas, and Bachelor’s degree from Zhejiang University. His main research area is Food and Bioprocessing engineering, with an emphasis on food and agricultural waste conversion and valorization. Dr. Huang has been a AOC member for 7 years since the ASABE meeting of Pittsburgh in 2010. He enjoys interacting with students, scholars, and professors in the AOC community. As a graduate student and a postdoc research associate, Dr. Huang has benefited a lot from this friendly and warm com-munity. Now, he is willing to be able to join the AOC Board to contribute himself with his passion and ex-perience. He is particularly interested in helping the growth and career development of the next generation of AOC professionals, promoting communications between faculty members and students, and creating ways to retain student members even after they graduate.  During his term, Dr. Huang will devote to Professional Development of AOC.


Dr. Sarah Wu is  an assistant professor in the department of Biological Engineering at the University of Idaho. She has been a member of ASABE for 10 years and has held many leadership roles over the years. Dr. Wu has served on the board of Student Activity Committee (SAC) of AOC back to 2007-2008 when she was a PhD student in the University of Minnesota. She is the faculty advisor of the ASABE club in the University of Idaho, and also serves secretary of two technical committees of ASABE (PRS-707 and ES-210). Dr. Wu enjoyed community service and will continue to help improve the development of AOC community for the growth and future challenges.  During her term, Dr. Wu will devote to Relationship Development of AOC.
